when i was prompted to create a perfume bottle for an assignment, i set out to create the most universal perfume bottle possible.
i took inspiration from generally simple objects and examined their inner workings.
i started with sketches. the idea was to break the perfume bottle down to only its necessary elements.
my first iteration broke the perfume bottle down to its simplest form, but the design lacked visual interest. however, I did like the support structures.
i took the support structures to the extreme in the next iteration, but the object felt too convoluted.
i refined the support structures, but it was still missing something ergonomically.
finally i had the idea to move the support structures to the inside as subtractions of solid acrylic, resulting in a more elegant form.
